Do I Get Brownie Points or Something for Inviting?

Most of you loyal readers of this little attempt at a blog – both of you! – are also fans(?) of my buddy Gary Lamb, the lead pastor of Revolution Church in Canton and soon-to-be Jasper, Georgia. It seems I have more and more opportunities to invite folks to Revolution! (Can you “invite” someone somewhere you don’t go yourself? Hmmmm….good question!)

Anyway, I met a guy at the YMCA today who has just moved here from Arizona. In the course of our conversation, we started talking about churches and how he and his family haven’t found a church yet, etc., etc.

I asked what he was looking for in a church. His answer: Something upbeat with a great kids experience for his son. He asked about my church, and I honestly pointed him toward Revolution.

“What’s the pastor like?” my new friend asked.

I just laughed. “Just go Sunday and hear him preach,” I responded. And I laughed again.

More Christmas Music Unwind, 12.06.07…

Josh Groban Noel

Speaking of great Christmas music…

Today when I went into the office, I found a neat little gold gift bag in my door message-holder-thingy. Inside the gold gift bag was the Josh Groban Noel CD! Thanks to whoever you are, if you’re reading this post! A very cool surprise! And it is in the Thursday night unwind playlist as we speak! Thanks again!

Worn Slap Out, and the Fun Is Just Beginning…

My weeks are no different than most of yours, I’m pretty sure, but this one has been a killer already, and there’s more to come…

  • Sunday, usual Sunday stuff, late home, late to bed
  • Monday, out of the house at 4:55 a.m. The Y, some running around Monday stuff, meeting from 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Home late.
  • Today, out of the house at 4:55 a.m. again. The Y, some church stuff, family stuff, etc.
  • Tomorrow, out of the house at 3:00 a.m., on the road to Statesboro, Georgia, 240+ miles of the most boring interstate you can imagine. “The Boy’s” surgery at 8:00 a.m. or so. Back home tomorrow night some time.
  • Thursday, the whole thing starts again, dark and early…

I’ll let you know when I meet myself…
