The lovely and gracious “Mrs. Just Charlie” was on a quest today to find some books for her class at school. So I got to tag along. And while I was tagging along, I also came away with some goodies of my own to add to the reading shelf!
From the local library…
- A Class with Drucker: The Lost Lessons of the World’s Greatest Management Teacher by William A. Cohen. The first graduate of Peter Drucker’s Ph.D. program shares life lessons from Drucker.
From the local Wal-Mart (Books from Wal-Mart?!?!?)…
- The Appeal by John Grisham. The newest legal thriller from the master of the genre. I’m trying to read more fiction along with everything else these days.
From one of our almost-local Barnes & Noble stores…
- A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle. Hey, what can I say? I was in the children’s section after all! I was looking for some of my favorites from bygone days, namely the Brains Benton series of mysteries, the Happy Hollisters series, and Encyclopedia Brown, Boy Detective. I also thought about going through the list of the Caldecott and Newbery award winners as part of this year’s reading plan. That still might happen!
- The Rag and Bone Shop of the Heart: A Poetry Anthology edited by Robert Bly, James Hillman, and Michael Meade. Warrior-poets…no need to say anything else!
